unsuspecting residents for ransom.
Acting on intelligence, a combined team of
police operatives from the Delta State Command and the Force Intelligence Unit,
Abuja, apprehended Ya’u after an extensive search.
Further investigation led to the arrest of
Musa and Mohammed, who are accused of being responsible for several kidnapping
incidents in Orerokpe, Sapele, Warri, and surrounding areas.
The victims have identified the suspects.
The alleged kidnappers led detectives to
Ughwagba Community in Okpe LGA, where two automatic pump action guns, one live
cartridge, and one knife, hidden and buried in the bush, were recovered.
“Preliminary investigations are still
ongoing, and efforts to arrest other fleeing members of the gangs are on top
gear,” Edafe added.
