Police arrest four armed robbers who posed as passengers and stole a tricycle in Adamwa


Monday, April 8, 2024 -Operatives of the Adamawa State Command have arrested four suspected armed robbers and recovered a stolen tricycle. 

Spokesperson for the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who made this known in a statement on Sunday, April 7, 2024, gave the names of the suspects as Abdullahi Yusuf, 22, Umar Yahaya, 20, Hassan Ishaka, 24, Shuaibu Abubakar,19, all residents of Kwabura village, Hawal L.G.A, Borno State.

According to the PPRO, the suspects attacked a commercial tricyclist along Jimeta-Mubi Bridge, pushed him out and made away with the vehicle.  

“On April 7th, 2024, at about 0600hrs, Nuhu Muhammed, a tricyclist, raised the alarm along Jimeta-Mubi Bridge after being attacked and robbed of his tricycle,” the statement read. 

"Investigations so far reveal that the suspects posed as passengers and boarded the tricycle to a certain location, around Viniklang, Girei Local Government Area. 


"Upon reaching the bridge, the suspects applied force on the tricyclist, threatening him with dangerous weapons, pushed him out of the tricycle and went away with it.

"A swift response from the Jimeta Division patrol team led to the apprehension of the suspects and the recovery of the tricycle.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), assured that the suspects will be charged to court for Criminal Conspiracy and Armed Robbery upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
