Dismissed Navy Personnel apprehended In Lagos for extorting N20,000 from unsuspecting residents


Saturday, April 6, 2024 -The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of a dismissed personnel of the Nigerian Navy who has been parading himself as a serving military man and extorting N20,000 from members of the public. 

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who made this known in a short statement issued on Saturday, said the soldier identified as Muhammed Tunde was dismissed from the Nigerian Navy in 2000

However, the police spokesperson said that Tunde had been making people believe he was still a serving military personnel, and also charged N20,000 from people as well as beat up innocent residents. 

The police said that Tunde was arrested while he and his boys were beating a hotel staff, a job contracted to him by one of the hotel customers who was asked to stop smoking in a "no smoking" area of the hotel. 

The police spokesperson said, “Dismissed Nigerian Navy personnel, Muhammed Tunde (dismissed since 2000), making people believe he’s a serving military personnel, charges N20,000 to bring his boys and beat up anybody for you. 

“He was apprehended while he and his boys were beating a hotel staff, a job contracted to him by one of the hotel customers who was asked to stop smoking in a ‘no smoking’ area of the hotel.
