Bandits kill retired teacher, abduct his wife and 2 others in Zamfara

Monday, May 12, 2025 - Suspected bandits have k!lled a retired secondary school teacher, Mallam Kabiru, and abducted three women including his wife, in a late-night attack on the staff quarters of Government Secondary School, Tsafe, in Zamfara State.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said the assailants stormed the premises on Saturday night.

“They wanted to abduct him, but he resisted. That was when he was shot. His wife and two others were later taken away,” he explained.

He further disclosed that police tactical squads and other security operatives have been deployed to the area and are currently pursuing the attackers.

“Troops have been mobilised and are on the trail of the kidnappers. I assure you that the victims will be rescued unharmed” he added
